This Canadian sock company was actually our first approval after our rejection from the conglomerate US wholesale organizations. Once we committed to building brand by brand we came across Uptown Sox by accident, but it was kind of meant to be since we first saw them due to a common idea!

We were walking along a street in downtown Frederick, MD and came across a boutique shop. We started making a point to explore these types of local shops as they are much of who we are trying to help sustain success to provide what they do to the local and surrounding communities. Within this one store we saw some interesting boxes that seemed to be the packaging for a pair of socks, however, also had a flap serving as a card - in this case a Father’s Day card. And yes this is an innovative little idea, but most importantly it was an idea we had discussed just days before!

We discussed how cards haven’t changed much and rarely express what you intend and now have somehow gotten expensive. Most people don’t even seem to be adding it to gifts anymore. We talked about things that say what you want on something else - signs, stickers, coffee mugs, shirts, and nowadays, socks. We added though, maybe packaging the socks so that you could also write a custom message etc would be the way to go. So imagine our surprise when we see a like-minded idea in full beauty directly in front of you - in the clearance section!

So maybe card socks were not going to be the top seller, but inside were the most comfortable pair of socks of this type I had seen. We bought the three remaining pairs and were going to figure out the rest at home. Once getting home and sliding these comfy socks on my feet they simply felt better than most of my expensive dress socks. We immediately went to explore the brand, I reached out and after a few emails around our business concept and theirs, they allowed us to begin selling their socks!

This gave us the confidence to ask others and we started getting those positive replies. We then added Hydrascape, Joy Susan, A-Slim, and we continue to create more offerings. We went all in with Uptown Sox pulling in more than 20 initial styles. We plan to incorporate them in many of our bundles, corporate gifting offerings, and even a Christmas gift exchange bundle so everyone gets a great pair of funny, sassy, and incredibly comfortable pair of socks. They have become my daily ritual as I have raided inventory enough at this point to be wearing them every single day!

They do have multiple sizes available to us, however, we have only bought to date the largest size. We have tried this same pair on a men’s size 12 foot and a women’s size 8 foot and both wear the sock just fine. The socks allow for a snug fit and some stretch so unless you have a smaller foot size, the size in our store is more or less a one size fits most.
